The Coordination Center (CC) supports and complements the activities of the separate PRIDE Programs as they enhance the development of a workforce to meet the nation's biomedical, behavioral, and clinical research needs. The primary tasks of the CC are to facilitate the coordination of research education and evaluation activities among the Summer Institute awardees, past program participants and the NHLBI, and to be responsible for the conduct of cross-site evaluations. The PD/PI team has expertise in both program evaluation and program coordination, facilitates recruitment and provides support for candidate selection, program-wide organization, and mentor identification and orientation.
In addition, the CC plans, arranges, and supports a wide variety of meetings, including the PRIDE Annual Meeting. This is a scientific meeting for scholars across all of the programs to meet, present their research, and form collaborations and networks with other scholars and established researchers from NHLBI and the other PRIDE programs across the United States.
