Postdoctoral Opportunity at the Rutgers School of Social Work (New Brunswick, NJ)

November 27, 2018

Dr. Emily Greenfield is seeking to develop a proposal to support an NIA diversity supplement as part of an ongoing R01 on childhood inequalities and later life cognition. As stipulated by this federal program, she is looking to support a postdoctoral fellow from an under-represented group in the biomedical sciences, which NIA largely defines as “Blacks or African Americans, Hispanics or Latinos, American Indians or Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders.” The postdoc will be located within the School of Social Work at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, at the New Brunswick campus. Research activities will emphasize (a) secondary data analysis, with a focus on longitudinal data and advanced statistical methods, and (b) primary data collection, with a focus on older African American adults in Newark, NJ. The postdoctoral fellow also will gain experience with grant writing. Dr. Greenfield is committed to excellence in research, as well as health equity and social justice. The Rutgers School of Social Work supports a robust postdoctoral program, and New Jersey is among the most densely populated and diverse states in the U.S., with ready access to New York City, Philadelphia, and the coastline. All candidates must have their PhD completed by August of 2019. Interested candidates are invited to email Dr. Greenfield at egreenf@ssw.rutgers.edu with their CV and a brief summary of their career goals and interest in this opportunity.
