The Section of Benign Hematology, within the Division of Hematology Oncology, in the Department of Medicine, at
the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is seeking
an exceptional candidate who is looking for full time academic practice in hematology. The position involves
outpatient and inpatient care at UPMC involving a portfolio focused on Benign Hematology, including consultation
on complex hemostasis and thrombosis in the setting of advanced surgeries, organ transplantation, and high-risk
maternal fetal medicine. Areas of academic interest that fit particularly well with current goals include, but are not
limited to sickle cell disease and hemoglobinopathies, thrombosis and malignancy, bleeding and thrombosis in
women, and platelet disorders with a focus on inherited bleeding disorders and thrombophilia.
