Minimum Qualifications

  • A PhD in Nutrition, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field.
  • Evidence of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level.
  • Evidence of a robust research agenda in nutrition and clear potential to establish a strong track record of peer-reviewed publications.
  • Evidence of successful research collaborations.
  • Experience working with diverse groups to promote health and wellness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-doctoral research experience.
  • Experience mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students.
  • Experience of successful teaching and research in nutrition as it pertains to sports, performance, public health, strength and conditioning, special populations, and wellness.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential with practical experience.
  • Additional credentials and training such as National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), American College of Sports Medicine Certified Exercise Physiologist and/or Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist, and/or Master of Public Health (MPH) will be looked on favorably.

Duties:

  • The applicant is expected to be able to effectively teach the following courses:
    • KINE 202 (Introduction to Kinesiology)
    • KINE 303 (Statistics & Research Methods)
    • KINE 336 (Nutrition for Health & Exercise Performance)
    • KINE 415 (Eating Disorders & Weight Control in Sports)
    • KINE 502 (Research Methods)
    • KINE 503 (Advanced Statistical Analysis)
    • Other courses as assigned by the Department Chair
  • The applicant is expected to oversee research that contributes to the Department’s mission and pursue external funding opportunities.
  • The applicant is expected to mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
  • The applicant is expected to develop courses in their area of expertise.
  • The applicant is expected to perform service to the Department, College, and University.
  • Additional duties may include the development of a nutrition minor.
