JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Sleep, Health, and Society Collaboratory (Dept. of Biobehavioral Health; College of Health and Human Development at the Pennsylvania State University [University Park]) invites applications for a Research Project Manager position.

 In addition to the broad description of duties typical to a Research Project Manager established by Penn State (https://hr.psu.edu/recruitment-and-compensation/job-profiles/research-engineering/research-project-manager), the primary role of the Research Project Manager will be to provide project management and administrative support to the Principal Investigator (PI) and Project Leaders for multiple sleep-related human subjects research studies. Responsibilities will include coordinating activities and training within and across multiple teams, ensuring completion of logistical and administrative tasks that promote study progress (e.g. purchasing supplies, scheduling), data management, supporting grant writing, maintaining and critically evaluating grant budgets in both University systems and internally, and providing oversight for compliance with federal and state regulations and university policy. Individuals in this position may train new team members in similar tasks as those described above, and may delegate to and supervise others (e.g. undergraduate or graduate students) in the completion of tasks.

 Additional duties may include, but are not limited to: assisting in the management of sleep and physical activity data collection, supplies, and devices; assisting in the recruitment, screening, scheduling, and consent of research study participants; preparing study materials for use in research; training study participants in the use of study devices; evaluating the quality/validity of data collected; testing and evaluating the functioning of devices used for data collection; receiving, transporting, and managing the storage of biologic specimens; contributing to the creation of Standard Operating Procedures; and communicating concerns with data or devices to other team members.
