CVD - Dr. Dani Arigo Receives Recognition From the Society of Behavioral Medicine

Dr. Dani Arigo, CVD Cohort 4, received the following recognition for scholarly and leadership contributions from the Society of Behavioral Medicine (SBM). 

(1) Cardiovascular Disease Special Interest Group Kenneth E. Freedland Founder’s Award, “granted in recognition of dedication to advancing research in cardiovascular behavioral medicine and reducing the public health burden of cardiovascular disease through research, mentorship, leadership, and/or service”
(2) Theories and Techniques of Behavior Change Interventions Special Interest Group Mid-Career Award, for “an impressive trajectory of publication, funding, and research with real-world impacts” in this area
(3) Tracy Orleans Distinguished Service Award, “in recognition of dedication and vast contributions to SBM as a member of the Board of Directors”

Dr. Ines Gonzalez-Casanova, RISE Cohort 8, and Dr. Karla Ivette Galaviz, RISE Cohort 7, recently received an R21 titled, "Mobile pop-up units for diabetes prevention among Hispanics in rural Indiana" from NIDDK.

AAPLS - Dr. Jacqueline Stocking Promoted to Vice Chair

Dr. Jacqueline Stocking, AAPLS Cohort 8, was promoted to Vice Chair for Patient Quality and Safety for the Department of Internal Medicine at UC Davis Health.

She was also selected to receive a CTSC Health Data Analytics project entitled: “Development of an Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data Model (CDM)-based predictive model for postoperative respiratory failure (PRF)”. The award amount is $15,000 in direct costs (and $7500 in indirects). This is part of the UCD CTSC program: NIH grant # UL1-TR001860
