The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the Division of Hematology in the Department of Pediatrics of the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in either the tenure track or the non-tenure clinician-educator track to direct the CHOP Sickle Cell Program. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree and must have board certification in pediatric hematology-oncology (preferred) or medical hematology.

This individual will build upon our renowned Sickle Cell Disease program with the goal of further expanding our global reputation as a leader in research, education and treatment of hemoglobin disorders. The successful candidate will be a nationally-recognized leader in the field of non-malignant blood disorders and will have a track record of outstanding research accomplishments and extramural funding, demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.

The successful applicant will have a national reputation in research involving patients with sickle hemoglobinopathies, program administration skills and commitment to direct and grow a clinical program, including interaction with patient advocacy groups and the PennMed adult program. Significant research and clinical resources, space for the research and clinical programs and protected time will be provided to the successful candidate
