The mission of the Office for Health Equity Research (OHER) is to promote understanding of the roots and factors that create health disparities and the burden experienced by excluded groups, and to support, coordinate, and expand innovative health equity research across URMC and beyond. The first Director of OHER will have the freedom to build this program, advancing translational innovation and discoveries to eliminate health disparities.
The OHER will provide a central hub for health equity research excellence across the URMC, supporting trainees, faculty, and departments by identifying and defining critical areas for research. The Director will also work with University leadership to lead transformative initiatives in Health Equity Research across the broader UR enterprise.

Senior Research Leader, Associate or Full Professor, Tenure-Track Regular Title Series Faculty Position, University of Kentucky’s Center for Health Equity Transformation

We are seeking a senior (Associate or Full Professor) research-focused faculty member for a tenured or tenure track, Regular Title Series, full time (12 month) position in the Center for Health Equity Transformation (CHET) in the College of Medicine at the University of Kentucky. We seek a health equity research leader with a dynamic, productive research agenda that aims to eliminate inequities in cancer, cardiovascular disease, dementia and other related neurological conditions, diabetes and obesity, substance use, or other health conditions. CHET is a transdisciplinary research and training center focused on developing the most innovative and impactful research and training portfolio. This position is part of a university--wide interdisciplinary cluster hire in health equity.
The selected faculty member will be expected to conduct innovative, rigorous, grant-funded research and engage in scholarly activities (peer reviewed publications, presentations, etc.). The faculty member also will provide leadership in Center activities, including serving as CHET Associate Director of Research. They will contribute to the research training of UK students and postdoctoral scholars, including mentorship programs, workshops, and supervised research. As a comprehensive and collaborative campus, the faculty member is expected to engage in broader research and training initiatives across all 16 Colleges of the University of Kentucky, including Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, Communication and Information Sciences, Health Sciences, etc. These initiatives include grant consultation and review; a dynamic speaker series and other enriching events; pilot project competitions; and outreach to the lay public. Seaver College of Science and Engineering invites applicants with expertise in kinesiology and/or exercise science for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Health and Human Sciences beginning Fall 2022. The tenure-track position is a 9-month contract from August 15-May 15 of each academic year. Salaries for faculty are highly competitive along with all applicable benefits.
The successful candidate will incorporate expertise into teaching courses to support the Department Mission (http://cse.lmu.edu/department/healthandhumansciences/). Priority areas of instruction for this position are in exercise physiology along with human anatomy and physiology. Other areas of teaching will depend on the individual expertise and could include coursework in kinesiology, biomechanics, strength and conditioning, public health, healthcare administration, global and community health, or bioethics.
